Our Three Sons
Triplets Spencer, Jackson and Corbin were all born with cerebral palsy. They suffer from varying degrees of physical and learning disabilities and are constantly undergoing treatment. Their parents, Peg and Darin, do the best they can to give them as normal a life as possible.
"It really opens people’s eyes to what it really is like to have a child with a disability," Peg explains. "You are in a different world, in essence, and it's a wonderful place to be, but at the same time for your children, it's a hard thing to swallow, at times, because they are different from their peers."
Each year, the family spends thousands of dollars in doctors visits. The cost is not only monetary but emotional and physical as well.
Despite the challenges, the family manages to stay positive and find hope in their lives.
"What pulls us through every single day is the five of us. We feed off of each other, we have a lot of fun. We take the positive out of every single day. And that's what gets us through."
